Park Healing Space

Placemaking Design / Spatial Design / Environmental Design / Experience Design
2024

Park Healing Space is a temporary placemaking intervention designed for Beacon Hill Country Park. The project responds to issues found during a field trip, including the lack of dedicated resting spaces, discomfort from forest debris, and the absence of quiet areas for stillness and reflection. The design introduces a lightweight fabric-and-wood structure that acts as a soft pause point along walking routes, allowing visitors to rest, slow down, and reconnect with nature through filtered light, soft textures, ambient sound, and an immersive forest atmosphere. The structure is designed to be low-impact, removable, and biodegradable, respecting the natural character of the site.
